Circle of Geese Block and a New Tote

Last night I gave it a try for making this Circle of Geese block (actually still on a quarter circle) using paper piecing with left over scraps. It was a 'practice block' before I really sew today for Felicity. She's one of my new 'Sew & Bee Happy' friend.
October is her block.

I also add a new tote on my shop.

This white floral on blue Tote with a lovely tie front accent is made from high quality Indonesian batik cotton and muslin. It hold a lot, but isn't too big! That's the most I love from this bag.
For accompany your day to a library..it's perfect! The tote could carry couples of books inside.

The Winners and New Wall Hanging

Hi!
Thank you for all the wishes. Sorry that I publish this post a little bit longer. The electricity at my home was on and off couple of times yesterday.
So....here are the winners! I wrote your names on little pieces of paper rolled and my little boy helped me to pick up your names randomly.
Congrat for my friends....
* Jackie *
and.... * Colleen *

Please send me your address by email.

I didn't blog or browse internet so much yesterday because of the electricity, so here a little piece I made..
A small wall hanging with spiral pattern.
Inspired by rose bud, I tried to translate it into a simple spiral pattern to the front of this wall hanging.
To create an impression of a sronger vertical I added a natural straight lines between the 2 batik boxes in the middle. The batik cloth I used has a genuine traditional batik pattern from Java, Indonesia.

Since here in my place already Tuesday morning, I wish you "Happy Tuesday!" :)

Projects before Easter

On this long weekend I uploaded more pics. First of all, this is the newest bag I made for my daughter this week. I used pretty spring theme fabric that Andrea, my 2009 Summertime swap partner gave me last year.

Early this week I've got sweet surprised award from Leah.
Thanks , Leah!

The other sweetest thing ...I won give away from Christy's blog. A gallon size baggie of Mill House Iin honey bun strips! So lucky am I ,
thanks a lot to Christy :)

Yesterday I finished the top of my Bee Addicted String Blocks project.
Not having good light when I took these pics.
The most I enjoyed all this week was this moment...
Couple of days ago we all had good times at the mall. After finished shopping my little boy found an interesting spot of Indonesian batik painting. He asked to try painting there. The first step the tutor lady showed him how to paint.
Here are all the process in traditional batik painting.

My boy was so excited in painting and coloring so that his big brother and sis were also interested in trying to participate. Here in Indonesia we use natural dyes made from fruit, tree bark or flowers to paint batik. This is specifically for the painted batik handmade, not the ones that made in batik printing factory.

We all really have fun there. This was the first time for them did the batik painting (so do I).

At last I wish you all Happy Easter :)

Creating for Friends

Is there anything more wonderful then creating something for dear friends, on the cozy and silent morning with a cup of coffee?
Here are the 2 bags -still in progress- made for 2 dear blogging friends. I use Indonesian batik fabrics.

Wish could make or giving something for all of my blogging friend. Hope I could make it....
Just a little bit 'thank you' for them :)
Sandy, I think you've infected me the virus of 'giving' :)
