"Colorful Spring"

These are the appliques I had restitched.

strawberries,

a pot of flowers,

hill,

butterfly and bee ...

This is the front of the mini quilt I've sent to my secret swap partner in Europe.
I had peep once of her blog and knew she's really an expert in doing applique. This is my first trying in applique. I hope she likes it :)

I brought a colorful strip and stitched simple kind of label at the back.
Really enjoy this 'Spring Blooms Mini Quilt Swap' that sponsored by the Quilting Gallery

Gift from My Husband

As a matter of fact I've had all these wonderful gifts since 2 weeks ago. But with the 'hustle and bustle' of family activities related with my hubby's one month vacation here and renovation of my backyard terrace ... made the messy of our house and vacation feeling in all of us just like a perfect blending at this moment.
My 2 other kids school holiday start this Saturday for 3 weeks while the little one has started his holiday a week ago so I prepare to have no time left to sit in front of my PC and playing with my fabrics and threads.

Look at the dutch lady and wind mollen pattern of these fabrics, lovely!

and so glad to finally have all these tools :)

Hope you all have a great day :)

First Applique and Stitching

This is my first trial project in applique and stitching. I made these blocks for a Spring Blossom Mini Quilt Swap.
After 2 days of making these blocks I've just realize this morning that I've made a mistake, a big error I think.
For the applique I think I did quite ok, but not with the stitching. See..those 2 different threads in the photo? I supposed to used (yellow) special stitching thread, not the other (green) machine sewing thread.. :(
Well, learn from the mistake right from the start!
I'll restitch again today..., no problem :)
