Sorry if you feel bored to see the same project of mine for more than a month!
This is the latest progress of it. Finally I know I want it to be a blanket for my girl. I had recently knew too that the pattern I chosen called 'double nine patch'. Really this is all about learning by doing for me. First time sew -hand sewing-, first time trying patchwork too.
I think I need one more big block and then think again the color and pattern for the border or shashing. Wish me luck :)
I dont get bored seeing the same project. Its so good to see the progress you make. You are doing such an amazing job for your 1st time and thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the progress as you work on the blocks! They look great so far!
ReplyDeleteThank you Rachel and Suzanne, for always encourage me in this project :)
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate it.
henny,
ReplyDeletefirst i LOVE all the polka dots you chose and this is a great block. i so admire you for hand sewing this. i think you will be buying a sewing machine in the future, because this is looking good and you are going to make more!
if these were my blocks, i might not use sashing at all. i like the secondary pattern that is formed when the blocks are together like this. see those blue diamonds in the middle? i might join all of these and then do a small white border (2 in.) and then a larger red border. (maybe 6 inches). if you want to do sashing i would go with white to make the blocks float. i love a lot of white in a quilt. i hope this helps you. i'll be back to see what you choose. keep up the GREAT work.
Is looking good Henny. All that hand-sewing, is just amazing! Is going to be beautiful when is done!!
